Texas School District Selects eChalk's Online Learning Environment
All Corpus Christi ISD schools to go online following successful pilot program

NEW YORK, NY – October 30, 2007 – eChalk, Inc., has announced that the Corpus Christi Independent School District (ISD) in Corpus Christi, Texas, has selected the company's Online Learning Environment for all of its schools. The announcement concludes a comprehensive, year-long review of several vendors.

Corpus Christie ISD will begin implementing eChalk's Online Learning Environment throughout its 60 schools. The implementation is an expansion of a successful, three-school district pilot program begun in 2005 to measure the impact of the company's Online Learning Environment on classroom instructional practices and student achievement. The pilot program was shown to positively impact student test scores, school attendance and disciplinary referrals.

The Online Learning Environment will allow all Corpus Christi ISD teachers to organize and share their classroom activities and provide all students and parents with equal access to homework assignments, resources, grades and other curricular materials in a safe and secure environment.

Dr. Janis Jordan, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, said the district is greatly anticipating the project's implementation phase. "We're very excited to move all of our schools online and to help everyone, including students and parents, to be more effective. We conducted a very thorough review and believe that eChalk has the best online application and on-site support to ensure positive student outcomes," she continued.

"Because the Texas Education Authority mandates the documentation of positive outcomes as a condition for further funding, and because the Corpus Christi ISD was able to correlate outcomes with its use of eChalk's Online Learning Environment, we're particularly excited about this expanded district-wide initiative," said Daniel Watts, eChalk Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer. "We're looking forward to working with the district to build on its early successes."

As part of the agreement, eChalk will provide extensive on-site professional development, including advanced training for teachers to incorporate technology into their classroom practices, as well as project management assistance.
