Fees

My copywriting services are competitively priced. For most assignments, I charge a flat fee. I also provide a quote in advance so there are no surprises. I find that most clients prefer a flat-fee arrangement because this way they have a better idea of their costs going into a project.

The flat fee that I quote covers all creative concepting, writing, editing, revisions (up to two rounds of revisions allowed for most projects—see "Terms" section below for additional information), proofreading and phone consultations.

When necessary, travel expenses for on-site meetings, research, interviews and other project needs are negotiated and quoted separately. Preliminary project needs analyses and research to create original content are also negotiated and quoted separately.

The quoted fee is firm and will not change unless you make a change that affects the direction or scope of the project. In these situations, the fee is renegotiated.

Terms

Unless other arrangements are made, a deposit of half of the project fee is required up front with the balance due upon completion of the project.

I require a signed purchase order or project agreement form (which I provide) before beginning any project.

All rewrites or revisions must be requested within 30 days of receipt of copy. Up to two revisions are allowed at no extra charge unless they represent a change in direction or scope from what was stated with the project originally.

All rewrites are made promptly. Minor revisions can generally be turned around in several business days. Major revisions may take longer.

An invoice is sent out within one week after copy is submitted. Payment is due within 15 days of the invoice date (15 days net), unless other arrangements are made.

If you cancel or put the project on hold once I've started working on it, a cancellation or "kill" fee may be applied. Kill fee amounts are determined by the amount of work completed. Half of the final fee is due within 15 days of notification if the job is cancelled or postponed for any reason before the final stage. The entire fee is due once the copy has been completely written.

If you would like a legal review done with your copy, it is your responsibility to submit your copy to a qualified attorney.

Although I proofread copy continuously throughout a project, as the client you're responsible for final proofreading.
